Hello, darlings! The first stirring of springtime celebration is in the air. Mmmmm-hm! Can you smell what we’re cookin’? It’s a magical aroma, the roux of Love, Luck and Laissez les bon temps roulez!

Share the Love at LuLu’s! Of all the wonderful events we enjoy here at LuLu’s, the wedding vow renewal ceremony, our “Tropical Re-Union,” may be the sweetest. I love that folks have shared their precious personal experiences with us. That they return to renew their vows here, in the spirit of living a joyful life, tells me we must be doing something right. You will not want to miss our “4th Annual Tropical Re-Union,” Saturday, February 11th at 4:00 pm on the LuLu’s beach! On top of the great good time my team has planned (cake! champagne! dancing!) for you and your sweetie, this year LuLu’s has partnered with Brett Robinson for a sweet Vow Renewal Celebration Package. Check out their website (www.brett-robinson.com) for details and reserve your weekend love nest. Come on down to LuLu’s little oasis of love, rekindle the spark with your honey, renew your vows and toast wedded bliss with a Crazy Sista Honey Ale. What could be sweeter?

Speaking of renewal, I am tickled pink looking forward to our 8th birthday (Really? Already? Yes! Eighth!) on February 21st. It’s no coincidence the Gulf Coast’s biggest party, Mardi Gras, is also our Homeport birthday. Each year we celebrate sailing from our tiny digs (love you, miss you Weeks Bay) to our home here on the Intracoastal. And each year the bon temps celebration gets bigger and more fun. With a yummy bowl of our signature gumbo in your belly, LuLu’s is the perfect vantage point to enjoy the Mardi Gras Boat Parade as the good times roll right on down the waterway at 3pm. Dress up in your carnival “finery” and come play for Fat Tuesday as we begin our ninth year in Gulf Shores!

The surest sign of the beginning of “beach season” is convertibles full of co-eds making their way to Pleasure Island for SPRIIIIIIING BREEEAAAAK!!!!!! Refresh your iPods, stock up on SPF and break out your shades – here come the kids! Students from all over the country congregate here beginning in mid-March, keeping us all young at heart. We love Spring Break season at LuLu’s, and you will too! (Nothing sets off a fresh pink sunburn prettier than a neon-blue JetSki Killer.) LuLu’s is an ideal Spring Break spot for families with kids on break from kindergarten to college; we make sure the fun stays clean, even if the little ones get covered in sand.

They say if you’re lucky enough to be at the beach, you’re lucky enough! Burnish your good luck charm and join a flock of Parrotheads for the Stars Fell On Alabama party on St. Patrick’s Day. My big brother’s favorite pandemonium of fans alights at LuLu’s March 17th for their annual Lower Alabama fête and even if you aren’t a Parrothead – or Irish - come enjoy the live music and colorful display of personalities!

I think I’m just going to tease you a little on this one: as Spring eases into Summer, we’ll be getting ready for our annual LuLuPalooza musical blowout bash, May 26 & 27th. We’ve got plenty of tricks up our proverbial sleeves, so don’t miss it! You have to check back in with me to find out more! Stay tuned and mark your calendars.

Phew! We’ve got a lot of celebrating to do, my friends! Take good care of you and yours. We’ll see you soon down on the waterway.

Lots of Gumbo Love,
